Pending Actions

See everything waiting for you in one queue, approve or reject, act on requests, and handle several items at once.

For everyoneFocus · page 30 of 35

Pending Actions is one queue of everything waiting for you, of every kind, newest first. Every item says who is asking, what is needed, and where to act. Approvals with consequences stay separate from teammates' requests. This page shows you how to read the queue and act on it.

Before you start#

  • Open Focus › Pending Actions.
  • A count on the sidebar row, and a figure on the Command Center, keep a request from getting buried.
  • Silvestro is the page's resident: Ask Silvestro sits in the header.

Two families of items share the queue:

  • Approvals — decisions with consequences, such as an agent proposing to create or reconfigure an agent, a permission grant, or a project on hold.
  • Requests — what colleagues and agents need from you, such as an @mention in Agora, a task handed to you, a document delete request or a reply an agent drafted.

Items waiting directly on you lead the page under Needs your attention. The rest follow under Everything else.

Read a card#

  1. 1

    Open Focus › Pending Actions.

  2. 2

Read each card: its kind, for example Approval, Mention, Task or Delete request; who is asking, from …; how long ago; and a short summary of what is needed.

01Every card says who is asking and what is needed.
  1. 3

Use the buttons. Each says what it does: a main action that takes you where to act, such as Reply or Open task, and a word to set it aside, such as Ignore, Later or Snooze.

Filter the queue#

  • Choose All, Approvals or Requests.
  • Switch between Pending and the items already decided: Approved, Rejected or Refused.
02Filter by kind, or look back at what was decided.

Approve or reject#

  1. 1

    Find the card under Approvals.

  2. 2

    Click Approve or Reject.

  3. 3

For a risky change, such as a permission grant, Approve opens a line that spells out the consequence, including which other agents with the same role it would also unlock. Click Confirm to apply, or Cancel.

03A risky change asks for a second click, with the consequence spelled out.

After a grant, the card can say what was granted, what else was unlocked on the same role, or what still needs to be set by a person.

A card for a stopped project offers Resume the project or Leave it stopped.

Act on a request#

The buttons depend on the kind of request:

RequestButtons
@mention in AgoraReply, Open thread, Ignore
Board review invitationJoin, Open board, Decline
Task handed to youOpen task, Mark done, Snooze
Document delete requestDelete, Open document, Keep
Scorecard invitationJudge the work, Not this time
Your automation asksAnswer in the room, Mark done, Later
A delivery heldOpen the Clock, Mark done, Later
A desk reminderOpen in the Schedule, Later
A reported Agora message, for adminsOpen the message, Close the report

Deleting a document from a delete request removes it from the Library. You can undo right after, or restore it later.

Send or discard a reply an agent drafted#

  1. 1

Read the card Mail · proposed by … · for you, with To, Subject and Text.

Exactly this text leaves, from your own mailbox, through your provider.

  2. 2

Click Send, or Discard: nothing is sent, and the draft stays in your mailbox.

04Only you send mail from your mailbox.

The result is said plainly, for example Sent from your mailbox.

Important

If the card says We don't know whether it went out., check Sent in your mailbox before trying again. Sending again might make it go out twice.

Rule on a Company Brain card#

  • Lesson proposed — read Where it applies, edit the rule text if needed, then click Confirm the lesson or Leave as material.
  • Pattern to rule on — the card shows When … then … and its confidence. Choose Approve as a rule, Adopt as a directive, Keep as a candidate or Retire it. Decide later decides nothing.
  • Rule to review — Keep it moves its review date on; Retire it stops it applying. Decide later leaves it in force.
  • Brain proposal — a colleague's feedback proposed to the shared Brain. Approve publishes the text as shown, signed with the proposer's name; Keep private keeps it with them, with an optional note.
05A lesson becomes a rule only when you confirm it.

Act on several items at once#

  1. 1

Click Select on the cards you want, or press X.

A bar shows how many are selected.

  2. 2

Click Approve all, Reject or Clear selection.

06Act on several items in one go.

Requests that arrive as a group, such as several capability requests from one agent, offer Approve all …, Reject all and Review individually. Undo appears for a moment after each action.

Use the keyboard#

J and K move between items, A approves, X selects, E archives, and Backspace (⌫) rejects.

What you will see#

You're all caught up. — Nothing pending. New requests and approvals show up here.
07Nothing waiting for you.
That didn't stick — the decision couldn't be applied, and the item is back in the queue. Try again.
You don't have permission to decide this action.
Your session has expired — sign in again, then decide this action.
This one is Nexa's to grant, for every workspace at once — open a ticket and the team grants it.
The decision didn't reach the server — the action is still pending.
Couldn't load your pending actions.

Good to know#

  • Agents propose; people decide. Nothing sensitive is one accidental click.
  • Creating or configuring an agent, and granting a permission, take effect only once a privileged person approves them here.
  • Approving a capability request grants both sides of it at once.
  • A lesson for a shared scope, such as a project or the whole workspace, is confirmed by an administrator. You may narrow a scope, never widen it. A pattern card is answered by an administrator.
  • Approving a Brain pattern never changes its confidence: how strong the evidence is, and whether it may act as a rule, are two different questions.
  • Nothing in the Brain expires on its own. Keeping a rule moves its review on; retiring it stops it applying and keeps the record.
  • An agent can propose a document delete, never perform one.
  • An @mention of a teammate in Agora creates an item for them here, with a link back to the message.
